Definition:
Wealthy people, usually snobs. Can also be used to designate the supposed morally "high and mighty."
Usage:
"You oughta be careful in the eastern part of the county. That's where the tall people live." Or, "I don't trust those men at the college. All a bunch of tall people if you ask me."
Explanation:
Whether or not the (comparatively) rich people were actually taller, either by genetics or fashion, is questionable. My best guess is that this owes something to "looking down one's nose" at someone else.
