Explanation:
It comes from Head Up Display, which is the system found on military aircraft to display the gauges on the inside of the pilots helmet. This allows him to concerntrate on flying without having to look down. The current use of the term is usually found within the business world and used by people who are trying to sound dynamic and confident in front of the boss or customer.
