What does the phrase "you there already?" mean? What would a slang definition be? Or is there one?

I received a response to a text message and the last thing he said was, "you there already?". He tends to use slang phrases so I assumed that was one of them but didn't want to sound like abn idiot and ask him. So I decided to sound like an idiot and submit a question on here. =) Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm not sure this phrase has a special meaning... I think it is just a short way to say, "You are already there?" Sometimes it can also be used to express surprise, as in "I'm surprised that you're already there!"
