Definition of: Dalton's law

1. Chem. The statement that the elements forming more than one compound unite in amounts which bear a simple multiple relationship to each other.
2. Physics The statement that the total pressure of a mixture of gases equals the sum of the partial pressures of each constituent regarded as occupying alone the same volume at the same temperature.
