(dī′ə·rä′mə, -ram′ə) noun
1. A painting, or a series of paintings, for exhibition, in which, by the use of cloth transparencies and arrangements of lights, alterations in the pictures are produced in view of the spectators.
2. A group of modeled figures, for exhibition, set in a naturalistic foreground blended into a painted background.
