Definition of: leopard

(lep′ərd) noun
1. A ferocious, carnivorous mammal of the cat family (Felis or Panthera pardus) of Asia and Africa, of a pale fawn color, spotted with dark brown or black. A black variety, but having detectable spots, is often called a panther.
2. Any similar cat, such as the American leopard or jaguar, the hunting leopard or cheetah, the snow leopard or ounce.
3. Her. A lion passant gardant.
