Definition of: nine-men's-morris

(nīn′menz·môr′is, -mor′-) noun
A game played on a diagram marked out on the ground, or on a board. Each player, having five, nine, or twelve (according to the number playing) counters or pieces, endeavors to place three in a row, upon doing which he takes one of his opponent's pieces.
