1. A Tasmanian and Australian shrub (Drimys aromatica) with small, greenish–yellow flowers and globular berries sometimes used as a substitute for pepper.
2. The Peruvian mastic (Schinus molle), whose seeds are used as a spice known as mollé and whose fruit yields an intoxicating beverage.
