In Cuba and the Philippine Islands, during and before the Spanish–American War, a dweller in the country who was forced by decree of the Spanish authorities to move within the city limits. [<Sp., pp. of reconcentrar move to the center again; so called because the authorities had previously ordered the country population to move within a certain radius of the town]
