(rez′in) noun
1. An amorphous organic substance exuded from plants, especially from fir or pine trees, yellowish or dark in color and usually translucent or transparent: it is soluble in alcohol and ether, and is a non–conductor of electricity.
2. Any of various substances made by chemical synthesis, especially those used in the making of plastics.
3. The resinous precipitate obtained from a vegetable tincture by treatment with water: used in pharmacy.
4. Rosin.
