Definition of: syringe

(sir′inj, si·rinj′) noun Med.
An instrument used to withdraw a fluid from a reservoir and eject it in one or more jets or streams. The simplest forms are valveless single–acting devices; other forms consist of an elastic bag supplied with flexible inlet and outlet pipes each having a suitable check valve.
