Definition of: water thrush

1. Any of certain American warblers (genus Seiurus), frequenting swamps and streams; especially, the common or northern water thrush (S. noveboracensis), olive-brown above, yellowish beneath, with dusky streaks and a buffy superciliary line, or the Louisiana water thrush (S. motacilla), with a pure-white superciliary line.
