1. An ancient, now purely nominal sinecure under the British crown, for which, by a legal fiction, a member of Parliament applies when he wishes to retire.
2. The hundreds of Burnham, Desborough, and Stoke in Buckinghamshire, England. See HUNDRED (noun def. 2).
