1. The state or fact of being present; opposed to absence.
2. Situation face to face; close approach or vicinity within view or access.
3. Something invisible but near and sensible, as a spiritual being.
4. Personal appearance; bearing.
5. Personal qualities collectively; self; personality: used also absolutely of a sovereign.
6. Obs. A distinguished assembly, as before a prince or exalted personage.
