Definition of: ostrich

1. A large, two-toed bird (genus Struthio) of Africa and Arabia, with aborted wings. Its long, powerful legs give it great speed. The plumage of the male is black, with white plumes at the ends of the wings and tail, much esteemed for ornamental purposes.
