(leg) noun
1. A limb of an animal used for supporting the body and for walking; especially, in man, the part of the lower limb between knee and ankle. ♦ Collateral adjective: crural.
2. Something that resembles a leg: the leg of a table, etc.
3. Hence, anything that gives support.
4. That portion of a garment or stocking which covers the leg.
5. Naut. The distance run by a vessel on one tack.
6. Any appreciable section of a journey.
7. That portion of a cricket field which would be included between an imaginary line drawn at right angles from the batsman's left leg to the boundary and a line drawn from the batsman's middle wicket to the boundary.
