(wik′it) noun
1. A small door or gate subsidiary to or made within a larger entrance.
2. A small opening in a door.
3. A small sluicegate in a canal lock or at the end of a millrace.
4. In cricket, an arrangement of three upright rods called stumps set near together, with two crosspieces called bails laid over the top; also, the place at which the wicket is set up; the right or turn of each batsman at the wicket; the playing pitch between the wickets: a fast wicket; an inning that is not finished or not begun: The eleven won by three wickets, that is, the two men at bat and one yet to go in.
