A summary military court for trying those (especially civilians in a theater of war) charged with minor offenses committed within areas controlled by the army. They are usually guided by the rules of evidence. Their jurisdiction is concurrent with that of courts martial. The military commission is resorted to in like situations for graver offenses such as espionage.
