1. A quick, vibratory movement caused by an external impulse; a shaking; also, a succession of such movements.
2. Any involuntary quivering or trembling of the body or limbs; a shiver.
3. Pathol. An involuntary and continued quivering or shaking of the whole or some part of the body: a form of paralysis.
