1. To form, produce, or manufacture as a textile, by interlacing threads or yarns; especially, to make by interlacing woof threads among warp threads in a loom.
2. To form by interlacing strands, strips, twigs, etc.: to weave a basket.
3. To produce by combining details or elements: to weave a story.
4. To bring together so as to form a whole: to weave fancies into theories.
5. To twist or introduce into, about, or through something else: to weave ribbons through one's hair.

—plain or taffeta weave A weave in which each filling yarn passes successively over and under each warp yarn, forming an even surface.

—twill weave A strong weave having a distinct diagonal line or rib, caused by the passage of the filling yarns over one warp yarn and under two or more. [OE wefan. Akin to WEB, WEFT.]
